Legal Implications
Legal training includes background and updates on the authority of police to use force, including deadly force. Specific tactics such as the Lateral Vascular Neck Restraint (LVNRŽ), baton, open-handed tactics and other police tactics are reviewed in connection with the use of force matrix to determine the appropriateness of a particular tactic under specified conditions. The objective is to provide guidance on when the use of any tactic would or could constitute excessive force. |
