This class, aimed at both the novice and experienced instructors, is designed to dispel myths and misconceptions regarding psychomotor skill instruction. The material covers the concepts of psychomotor skill instruction such as skill classification, motor learning vs. cognitive learning processes, and how vision and visual cues can affect practice. Emphasis is placed on safety and the adult learner, along with practical tools for assessing the various learning and processing styles. Methods for developing an effective skill instruction system that integrates various levels of force are explored. This information is equally applicable to all areas of motor skill instruction such as firearms and control/defensive tactics programs.

Completion of this class will enable the attendees to effectively update their current psychomotor skills programs to enhance both the amount and the speed of student learning.
